Electrical Removal and Installation Service in Sydney for Knox Grammar Science Labs Electical Fit Out
Lightspeed Electrical was contacted by BTF Projects to price this electrical fit-out, consisting of the strip-out of the current head maintenance headquarters and complete a redesign to a functional set of science laboratories for students to attend.
After supplying a very competitive quote along with a full set of designed electrical documentation, our company was the obvious choice to undertake this new project. Once contracts had been established and all documentation proved by Lightspeed Electrical approved, we began the project.
As with most of our jobs, we are expected to complete a large amount of work in a short amount of time. This timeframe was to be three weeks from start to finish – a breeze for Sydney’s favourite licensed electrician team. This timeframe meant we would need to hit our programmed installation dates to the day, so as to not hold any of this project at bay.
As per usual, Lightspeed Electrical were first on deck with the strip-out of over 150 lights, three phase outlets and countless power points, with all cabling to be completely stripped out and made safe in one day for the builders and plumbers to start their own tasks the next morning.
We achieved our goal by staying back until 8pm that night. This meant we set a good pace to stay on target with our program. The next morning, Lightspeed’s licensed Sydney electricians were back on site to start the mark-out and installation of electrical services this would entail running all new data, power and lighting. Working with all trades on site to ensure all steps of every trade could move along efficiently, Lightspeed Electrical were feeling confident that delivery of this project would be handed over on time.
The installation of electrical data outlets, power outlets and lighting was upon us. However, we encountered one problem – the lighting that we had ordered for the job was now due to be delivered three days after the handover from the previous promised date of a week before. This was unacceptable as staff and students were scheduled to be using the new fit-out by then.
As Sydney’s most trusted licensed electrician team, we diligently installed all other electrical services while trying to come up with a solution to the problem that had now stricken our clean record of timely job delivery. There was but one option: we needed to find a new supplier that could deliver lights in a week!
We managed to find a supplier of a near-identical light fitting that had the stock to deliver. The only problem was the inflated price – a price we couldn’t pass on, as this was no fault of the client. We had to weigh up the options – delay the job and tarnish our reputation, or just get the job done as what we’re so well known for. It was a no-brainer – we had to fork out the extra cost of the lights ourselves to retain our reputation for time-keeping.
Everything was back on track, and to everyone’s surprise, on the last day where things can be quite hectic and long hours are the norm, Lightspeed Electrical walked out of site at 9am – completely tested and certified – knowing that once again we had achieved another successful electrical fit-out on time.
